Aramco Asia India (AAI) recently partnered with NGO ‘IAMGURGAON’ for the ecological restoration of the Ghata Bundh & Jheel in Gurugram. On 17 August, led by AAI President Mohammed Al-Herbish, AAI employees planted several saplings of native trees. This partnership reflects Aramco’s global commitment to environmental sustainability and safeguarding the interests of the local community and its people.

The Bundh, now a protected forest, will not only enhance the biodiversity in the surrounding area but also help improve groundwater recharge, flood mitigation, and create quality green spaces for local communities. Additionally, the creation of cultural and ecological heritage trails will serve for recreation activities like walking, jogging, running, cycling, bird watching as well as promote environmental education.

We are committed to supporting local communities and working to improve global environmental substantiality. Through this collaboration with IAMGURGAON, we strive to continually strengthen our environmental practices”.

Latika Thukral, Founder of IAMGURGAON said,” The eco-restoration of Ghata Bundh & Jheel not only reverses environmental degradation but also builds a quality habitat-supporting biodiversity. We are fortunate to partner with Aramco Asia India, who is making concerted efforts to restore the ecological balance in Gurugam.”

AAI has been committed to corporate citizenship through meaningful partnerships with India’s NGOs for solutions to the country’s most pressing challenges.
