CSR activities in India
As part of the mandatory corporate social responsibility (“CSR”) activity, for financial year 2021-22, the board of directors of AAI approved contribution to NGO - ‘Sankalptaru’ for a Community Tree Plantation Project (“CTPP”), which will be undertaken in Manesar, Haryana.
With the aim to increase green coverage of the Aravalli Range by planting native trees that support biodiversity and creating a self-sustainable ecosystem, over 35,000 trees will be planted in an area of approximate 3.8 hectares. The CTPP has been designed to create a biodiverse area which can in turn contribute towards the green-lungs for around cities thereby focusing on maximum impact on the environment while also providing food, shelter and fodder to the animals of the region. Trees will be planted in the community. Fruit bearing, native variety trees and/ or medicinal trees will also be planted as part of the program.
