CSR activities in India

As a good corporate citizen, Aramco Asia India Pvt. Ltd. (AAI) focusses on sustainably and contributing to the people and community in which we operate. We align our CSR projects with the current and future needs of local communities and for the larger benefit of society. We have undertaken CSR projects focused on environment and wellbeing of society.

Financial Year 2018-19

AAI contributed to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF). The resources of the PMNRF are utilized to render immediate relief to families of those killed in natural calamities like floods, cyclones and earthquakes, etc. PMNRF also assists partially to defray the expenses for medical treatment like heart surgery, kidney transplantation, cancer treatment of needy people and acid attack etc.

Financial Year 2019-20

Financial Year 2020-2021

AAI contributed to PM Cares Fund. The Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) was created by the Government of India, following the COVID-19 pandemic in India.

Financial Year 2021-2022

AAI partnered with NGO - ‘Sankalptaru Foundation’ for a Community Tree Plantation Project in Manesar, Haryana. The afforestation drive aimed to increase green coverage of the Aravalli Range by planting native trees that support biodiversity and creating a self-sustainable ecosystem. Over 35,000 trees were planted in an area of over 3.8 hectares. The project was designed to promote and protect the environment and biodiversity. The trees planted as a part of this citizenship project will be managed by the SankalpTaru Foundation for two years after which the plantation will become self-sustainable.

Financial Year 2022-2023

AAI has partnered with ‘I AM GURGAON’ for Eco-Restoration of Ghata Bundh and Jheel. The Ghata Bundh was built in 1890s and was once instrumental in protecting the city from floods and recharging ground water. The Bundh also acts as a biodiversity habitat and forest corridor. However, due to construction activities in the catchment area, there was urgent need for restoration. This project aims to preserve biodiversity, increase groundwater recharge, and provide urban flood protection. Once restored, the Ghata Bundh, will provide a safe, green community space as well as employment opportunities for the local population.

Financial Year 2023-2024

AAI has partnered with NGO ‘YouWeCan Foundation’ to provide financial support for treatment of underprivileged children suffering from cancer. Through this CSR initiative, beneficiaries from marginalized and underprivileged backgrounds will be supported. The foundation will work with government and charitable cancer hospitals specializing in medical, surgical and radiation oncology. The project aims to fight cancer through awareness, early detection, patient support and survivor empowerment.

 

Our international communities

We strive to contribute to the communities that host our offices and operations around the world. Our efforts include support for a wide range of citizenship activities, including disaster relief, literacy, and STEM skills development. 

North America

Our Houston subsidiary is home to our North American office and affiliates. After the devastating impact of Hurricane Harvey on the city, we assisted with relief efforts and participated in community volunteer activities. We also organized and packed 300,000 meals and contributed to a ‘Habitat for Humanity’ project to rebuild 176 homes. 

We are the title sponsor of the Houston Half Marathon, part of the Houston Marathon Weekend. Our employees also take part in the run or volunteer to ensure that the event’s ‘Run for a Reason’ program successfully raises awareness and funds for local non-profit organizations. The event, along with the Chevron Houston Marathon and a 5K run, attracts close to 25,000 participants and over 200,000 spectators. 

Europe

In The Hague, Netherlands, we launched the first ever Aramco Beach Run in 2017. With over 1,500 participants, the event raised funds for one of the country’s leading pediatric hospitals.

Asia

Through our Aramco Scholarship Program and in partnership with the Community Chest of Korea, we supported 86 disabled university students majoring in science and engineering disciplines. Our Singapore office partnered with Habitat for Humanity to support impoverished families in Batam, Indonesia. Between 2016 and 2017, we built 33 houses that were able to withstand monsoons through the Batam Build Project.
