Supporting communities

Making a difference

The real value of energy lies in its potential to serve the needs of human progress and development.

Citizenship

For us, being a good citizen means more than doing good. It means acting with a purpose to make a positive impact on people and their communities. Our endeavor is to mobilize resources to make a helpful contribution to society through effective, impactful, and sustainable development programs.

Our international communities

We strive to contribute to the communities that host our offices and operations around the world. Our efforts include support for a wide range of citizenship activities, including disaster relief, literacy, and STEM skills development.

North America

Our Houston subsidiary is home to our North American office and affiliates. After the devastating impact of Hurricane Harvey on the city, we assisted with relief efforts and participated in community volunteer activities. We also organized and packed 300,000 meals and contributed to a ‘Habitat for Humanity’ project to rebuild 176 homes.

We are the title sponsor of the Houston Half Marathon, part of the Houston Marathon Weekend. Our employees also take part in the run or volunteer to ensure that the event’s ‘Run for a Reason’ program successfully raises awareness and funds for local non-profit organizations. The event, along with the Chevron Houston Marathon and a 5K run, attracts close to 25,000 participants and over 200,000 spectators.

Europe

In The Hague, Netherlands, we launched the first ever Aramco Beach Run in 2017. With over 1,500 participants, the event raised funds for one of the country’s leading pediatric hospitals.

Asia

Through our Aramco Scholarship Program and in partnership with the Community Chest of Korea, we supported 86 disabled university students majoring in science and engineering disciplines. Our Singapore office partnered with Habitat for Humanity to support impoverished families in Batam, Indonesia. Between 2016 and 2017, we built 33 houses that were able to withstand monsoons through the Batam Build Project.
