Aramco has followed its $500,000 in pandemic assistance to the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) in 2020, with another $200,000 donation to Akshaya Patra Foundation. The money will fund the delivery of essential services such as nutritious cooked meals to COVID-affected households in India.

The partnership with Akshaya Patra addresses the basic needs of some of the most deprived groups in society and supports our corporate citizenship pillars of people and planet.

As part of this initiative, more than 675,000 cooked meals will be distributed across the country to economically disadvantaged people in need of support during these challenging times.

Mr. Mohammed S. Al-Herbish, President of Aramco Asia India Pvt. Ltd., said: “We are committed to supporting local communities in India and pleased to partner with Akshaya Patra Foundation in COVID–19 relief efforts.”

The donation is part of Aramco’s global corporate citizenship drive that contributes to the safety and prosperity of local communities where the company operates.

In India, Aramco supports the safety of its employees and their families, tackling hunger with donations, and helping hospitals and first-responders in the fight against COVID-19.
