News|

Fifteen AAI employees volunteered to serve mid–day meals at a school in Delhi on 5 December 2025, led by AAI Managing Director Abdulrahman Althukair. This volunteering effort is part of Aramco’s partnership with Akshaya Patra Foundation, aimed at promoting energy efficiency and sustainability across five Akshaya Patra kitchens which provide 154,000 free meals every day to students in some of the most underprivileged regions of India

Aramco has partnered with the Akshaya Patra Foundation to implement energy–efficient upgrades in 5 kitchens, including HVAC systems, solar power integration, motion–sensor lighting, and solar pole lights, in the States of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The interventions will significantly reduce CO₂ emissions, lower electricity costs, enhance workplace comfort, and ensure cost–effective operations. This partnership reinforces long–term environmental goals and sets a benchmark for sustainable meal production.

On the occasion, Althukair remarked that Aramco recognizes its responsibility to support the communities in which we operate and to champion sustainable development. This project aligns with our global efforts towards environmental stewardship, social wellbeing while advancing inclusive development through new and emerging energy solutions that support long-term prosperity in the communities where we operate. We are pleased to partner with Akshaya Patra to drive this meaningful change.

Through this activity, the participating volunteers demonstrated their solidarity with the underserved community and contributed personally to the welfare of school students.

Akshaya Patra has been dedicated to ensuring that children from underprivileged backgrounds receive nutritious meals at school, as a means for them to focus on their education. They operate one of the largest school children feeding programmes in the world with a network of 78 kitchens across 16 states and 3 Union Territories.

Through this extensive infrastructure they serve over 2.33 million children every school day, reaching more than 23,000 schools and Anganwadi centers in India. This collaboration with Aramco supports both the Foundation’s mission of child nutrition and Aramco’s sustainability goals.
