Aramco Announces Global Industrial AI Grand Challenges and highlights Innovation Hub vision at India AI Impact Summit 2026

Aramco participated in the India AI Impact Summit 2026, being organized in New Delhi from 16-20 February at Bharat Mandapam. This participation reflected Aramco’s focus on advancing industrial artificial intelligence (AI) and supporting global innovation collaboration.

 

During the summit, Dr. Ammar Al Nahwi – Director, Corporate Innovation and Mr. Aysar Tayeb – Chief Strategist, Corporate Innovation participated as speakers in the session “Industrial AI Challenges: From World’s Next Industrial-Tech Innovation Hub” on 17 February. The session was moderated by Mr. Krishnan Raman –Managing Director & Global Lead, AI & Data for Energy, Accenture Technology.

 

In the session, Aramco showcased its leadership in technology applications, highlighting its rich history of innovation spanning development, investment, early piloting, and adoption of advanced technologies. The company outlined how leveraging AI across industrial processes can help drive operational improvements, with potential for further impact. As the next step in its innovation leadership journey, Aramco described plans to establish a program intended to help catalyze a global open innovation ecosystem, anchored by a hub in Dhahran, to collaborate with entrepreneurs and startups worldwide in addressing industrial challenges at scale subject to applicable approvals, contracting and program terms. Aramco noted that Dhahran combines in-house innovation with start-ups, venture capital, and opportunities for real-world deployment at scale

 

As part of this initiative, Aramco unveiled a list of global “Industrial AI” grand challenges and invited entrepreneurs and startup companies to submit proposals and develop solutions to address these challenges. Interested entrepreneurs and start-ups may submit their expression of interest, followed by full applications to work on addressing the Industrial AI Grand Challenges. Early-stage start-ups may have the unique opportunity, if selected, to participate in program that could include dedicated resources, technical support, and potential funding to accelerate solution development.

On the sidelines of the Summit, AAI MD Mr. Abdulrahman Althukair had a courtesy meeting with the Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. During the meeting matters of mutual interest and general developments were discussed.
