Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Althukair said, “This initiative reflects our efforts to support the communities where we operate through sustainable development and environmental stewardship. Aramco Asia India, in partnership with Humana India and the local community, strengthened the village livelihoods, improved access to essential services, and advanced climate smart rural development.”

As part of the project, a solar-powered RO water plant has been installed to improve access to safe drinking water. In addition, 30 solar streetlights have been set up across key locations in the village to support better visibility and safety. The project also focused on promoting environmentally sustainable practices, which included the installation of 5 biogas plants and 24 vermicomposting units. Further, 27 kitchen gardens have been developed to support household nutrition and encourage self-sustenance.

To support agricultural activities, the initiative includes installation of 2 solar irrigation pumps, along with distribution of 200 soil conditioner kits and a pest detection machine, helping farmers adopt a mix of traditional and modern agricultural practices. A village action committee has been formed to help oversee the upkeep and usage of these assets, with the aim of ensuring their continued benefit to the local community.

The Model Village Development Program reflects a collaborative approach to rural development, with a focus on meeting local needs while building systems that can be sustained by the community over time.
