Supporting Mobility and Independence with NeoMotion Devices
Aramco partnered with Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled in the distribution of NeoMotion assistive mobility devices across five Indian states, helping expand access to functional, engineered mobility solutions. Designed by engineers at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, these devices are customized to each user’s physical profile and environment, combining ergonomics with adaptable motorized capability.
The initiative focused on practical outcomes: reaching individuals for whom conventional wheelchairs are often unsuitable, especially in uneven terrain or dense urban settings. On-site fitting ensured each unit met daily use requirements, emphasizing utility, precision, and long-term value.
Aramco’s involvement centered on enabling scalable solutions, not one-time aid, but a shift in how assistive technology reaches those who need it. By backing a locally developed, technically sound system, the program supported greater mobility, enhanced self-reliance, and improved access to work, education, and public life.
This effort is part of Aramco’s broader commitment to advancing inclusive infrastructure — applying resources where design, innovation, and impact align. It reflects a clear objective: to invest in systems that strengthen human potential at scale.
Empowering Women through Skill Development in Tailoring
Aramco partnered with Ambuja Foundation to empower women through the entrepreneurial skill of tailoring. As part of this project, a dedicated Common Facility Center (CFC) was established to provide 200 women with a professional, shared workspace equipped with industry-grade machinery, materials, and expert guidance to strengthen their industry capabilities. This initiative is empowering women from traditional community backgrounds, helping them enhance their livelihood, build confidence, and take meaningful steps towards financial independence. At this center, women are actively engaged in stitching and small-scale production activities and gaining hands-on experience in a real-work environment
